Description

Pathfoot Building Glazed Entrance Renewal – University of Stirling

This ongoing project focuses on the renewal of the glazed entrance doors and curtain wall glazing at the Pathfoot Building at the University of Stirling. The goal is to replace the existing glazing and doors with a design that is true to the building's original aesthetic while meeting modern standards for thermal performance, fire safety, and accessibility.

Key Considerations:

  • Material & Design Consistency: The proposed replacement works are carefully designed to match the existing structure in both materiality and appearance. Special attention has been paid to replicate the traditional glazing and access doors as closely as possible.

  • Regulatory Compliance: The design process involved thorough research and collaboration with specialist manufacturers to ensure the new elements meet current Building Standards, particularly in terms of thermal efficiency, fire safety, and accessibility.

  • Construction Detailing: Every element has been meticulously detailed to achieve an exact likeness of the original features while incorporating the necessary updates for modern safety and performance standards.
