We have over 40 years of diverse project experience across a wide range of sectors. In this time we are proud to have built up many strong client relationships and completed numerous successful & transformative projects. Ultimately we believe it is this that has led to our reputation for delivering consistently high quality design-led projects, efficiently and effectively.
We are pleased to say that we have a very high rate of repeat business from our clients, which we feel is key to a successful architecture practice.
We offer a high level of Client service, which coupled with our well established working relationships with a wide range of contractors, enables us to help you achieve your project to an excellent standard with the minium of stress. We are very much a proactive practice and pride ourselves on our fast response times to any unforseen site issues, design queries or general support.
At WPA all of our senior staff also produce design & detail drawings, unlike some practices. This means that you will always have a senior staff member working directly on your project. Our efficient practice structure also means that we can offer more competative fee rates.

Our Architects don't try and force a laboured and over fussy 'personal statement' building as some do - rather we prefer to design buildings that are fully responsive to their local environment and to your needs.
We only every design to what we feel most appropriate in each case - which is directly dervied from you as the client.
There are elements of our work that read from project to project, which can be seen in the proportions, detailing and use of materials; but we have no 'house style'.
Every building we undertake is unique - because every site has unique constraints and every client unique requirements.

Our own favourite architectural works are by the Architects Sverre Fehn and Mies Van Der Rohe both of which were masters at understanding materials and creating buidlings of great elegance - something that we as Architects always aspire to achieve.

Bespoke Homes
A key area of our work is in bespoke homes and residential developments. We pride ourselves in being equipped with the design skills to add tangible value to your project, no matter how challenging the site, brief or project constraints.
We have undertaken work here from highly detailed cabinetry/craftsman style drawings for dream homes, to high rise residential developments and large new town masterplanning for volume house builders. We are well versed in attaining the necessary statutory approvals for historic restorations, Conservation Area sites, rural locations and generally complex site conditions.
Cruicial to our residential work is working closely with our clients to realize their aspirations for their dream bespoke home, or transformational house extension - everyone is different and we pay close attention to your priorites and values.

Specialist skills
Whilst the office undertakes projects of all scales in many different sectors, we have also developed specialist knowledge within sectors such as Education and Care.
We have undertaken a number of key multi-million pound projects, both refurbishment and new-build, for Universities – some of which are the first of their type in the UK.
Equally, our specialist skills and knowledge in the care sector spans several decades and has enabled us to complete a significant number of care facility projects across Scotland for various Care Providers.
Another key area of our work is in residential & commercial developments.
