Services
Scale / At Wilson Paul we have no 'set' project scale. We undertake jobs of all sizes. Whilst we undertake major multi-million pound projects, we also undertake one-off bespoke homes or alterations to transform your existing house into your dream home.
We apply exactly the same creativity & attention to detail to each and every project we undertake. Ours is a pragmatic, 'real-world' approach -
We work with you to get the very best scheme regardless of budget. We charge competitive fees out of principle. Because of this we do often have a waiting list, but we can promise the wait is worth it.

Range / We provide a wide range of services varying from large scale masterplanning to highly detailed construction drawings, interior design and digital media. Although as Architects our primary focus is building design, we believe good design is multi-disciplinary; we have been commissioned to design furniture, artworks, interactive maps, CGI video flythroughs, photorealistic visualization artworks and websites. Each is undertaken with our trademark level of detail and thought.

02 Planning / Masterplanning

Chartered Town Planning Expertise /

We offer a distinct advantage for your project through our in-house Chartered Town Planner, who brings over 30 years of experience working both within Local Authorities and in private practice. Our team's deep knowledge of UK Planning policies and regulations ensures that every aspect of your project, from feasibility studies to statutory consents, is carefully considered for the best possible outcome. This experience allows us to identify potential challenges and opportunities for even the most complex or large-scale developments, giving your project the edge it needs for successful approval.
Feasibility Studies and Strategic Planning /

We can provide standalone feasibility studies for an initial fee, which helps you gauge the viability of your project. This includes evaluating the appropriate scale of development, potential restrictions, and the suitability of design options. Our expert knowledge of what statutory bodies require enables us to work with you to craft proposals that align with planning regulations and expectations, streamlining the approval process.

Conservation Architecture and Heritage Expertise /

Our team is also highly experienced in Conservation Architecture, working with Historic Scotland, local authorities, and conservation trusts on the sensitive refurbishment and alteration of Listed Buildings. We have a strong track record of creating designs that not only respect the historic integrity of buildings but also adapt them to modern, sustainable uses. Some of our projects have themselves been granted Listed Building status, a testament to our skill in blending historic preservation with contemporary needs.

When working on heritage sites, we follow a “light touch” approach, making minimal interventions to preserve the building’s character while meeting contemporary standards and regulations. Our goal is to ensure the long-term viability of these treasured structures for future generations.
03 Interior Design
Interior Design: A Seamless Integration of Form and Function /

At Wilson Paul, we believe there should be no distinction between ‘interior’ and ‘exterior’ architecture. We believe truly successful buildings are fully integrated, designed from the inside out. In all our projects, we carefully consider both the structural and construction elements alongside the nature of the internal spaces.
We strive for our designs to be read as a comprehensive whole, where architectural elements and the materiality of the building envelope are reflected in the internal spaces. Thoughtfully placed glazed elements help achieve powerful spatial characteristics that enhance the experience of the interior.

Transformative Interior Design for Every Project /

We see the interiors of buildings as equally important as their exteriors. Great interior design not only complements great architecture but also has the power to transform existing buildings—whether historic conversions or modern developments.
Our philosophy is that interiors should be both functional and inspiring. We apply this to all our projects, whether they involve remodelling and extending existing spaces or designing from the ground up.

Creative Use of Materials and Colours /

We believe that creative use of colour, texture, and different materials and surface treatments combine to produce unique internal environments. These can create a sense of harmony or surprise through unconventional combinations of materials or colors.
Every detail of an interior is carefully designed, from wall and floor finishes to bespoke joinery, built-in furniture, lighting design, and kitchen and bathroom specifications. We interpret our clients’ tastes and ambitions to deliver interiors that exceed expectations.
Unlocking Potential in Existing Spaces /

We particularly enjoy the challenge of ‘unlocking’ compromised internal layouts, transforming them into naturally flowing and light-filled spaces. This process can completely change the way we work, live, and play in a space.

04 Visual & Media

Visualizations: Bringing Your Design to Life /

At Wilson Paul, we specialize in high-quality digital and hand-drawn visualizations to support your project. From photorealistic 3D images to quick mock-up models, we use visual tools to shape and communicate the design process effectively.

3D Modelling & Early Design /

In the early stages, we often create quick 3D models to guide the design’s evolution, sharing them with you for feedback. If planning permission is required, we provide high-quality visuals to support your application—something many architects do not offer as standard. For full-service projects, we also model interior spaces, inviting your input throughout.

Photorealistic Visualizations /
We’ve produced high-end 3D artworks for high-profile projects, especially useful for securing funding or board approval. These images help bring your vision to life, making it easier to gain support. We can provide a selection of these visuals upon request.

Hand Sketches & Watercolours /
Our architects regularly create sketches to develop design ideas. For projects with Listed status or rural locations, we use pantone markers and pencil renderings to capture the light, shadow, and materials of a space. These hand-drawn visuals are ideal for conveying atmosphere and can be produced for any project size.

Video Flythroughs /
Using advanced 3D modelling software, we create high-quality video flythroughs to shape building massing, interior spaces, and user experience. These are particularly effective for conveying building suitability to Planning Authorities and giving a realistic sense of internal spaces. Flythroughs can highlight external context or focus on visitor experiences for educational, retail, commercial, and licensed projects, helping resolve space planning early and facilitate discussions with user groups.

Graphic Design /
We offer full project design services, including graphic design for interior artworks, logos, branding, and websites. Our team, with experience in graphic design, works seamlessly from design through to delivery, ensuring that all elements of your project are integrated and well-supported. This approach simplifies communication with a single point of contact. Please contact us for examples.

Website Design /
We design high-quality websites, often for repeat clients. Our services are ideal for projects requiring public support or for developers showcasing portfolios. With our deep understanding of your business, we can deliver a tailored, high-quality site within a short timeframe, designed to meet your specific needs.
